3rd Annual Holiday Community Sing
Join us for an evening of holiday songs and good cheer! This free-admission annual event will be on Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Olney.
This event will feature:

Alessandro Bonotto, trumpet
Simone Brown, soprano
A sing-along portion
This concert’s setlist will include traditional holiday favorites, making this concert perfect for families and community members who want to celebrate the magic of the season through music and song. Any cash donations will go to Olney Help. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Giving Back to the Greater Olney Community
Olney Help will be collecting donations at this event. Olney Help’s "most wanted/needed" pantry food list for donations:
pancake syrup,
hearty soups,
canned fruit in juice, jelly,
canned green beans, corn, and peas, (prefer low or no salt),
12 ounce cans of chicken,
instant oatmeal and cold cereal, especially for children.
They also welcome gift cards to Giant, Safeway, and Harris Teeter. There will be a snowflake-wrapped box for donations of goods, and all cash donations collected at this event will go to Olney Help as well!
Event Information
Parking: There is limited free parking available on the LCGS campus. We have arranged for free overflow parking at Olney Adventist Preparatory, 4100 Olney-Laytonsville Rd, Olney, MD 20832. We encourage those who are able to safely walk the distance to park at Olney Adventist.
Tickets: This is a free-admission event. No tickets are necessary.
About the Choirs
Sherwood Community Chamber Choir (SCCC): Founded in 2014 by William Evans, SCCC is a volunteer auditioned choir of approximately 60 singers. Under the direction of Evans—who taught choral music at Sherwood High School for 37 years—SCCC strives to enrich the community through inspiring choral performances. Assistant Music Director Kenny Phillips provides additional leadership and support.
Vocal Accord: Established in 2022, Vocal Accord (formerly the Sherwood Community Chamber Ensemble) is a select group of 14 singers from the Chamber Choir. This ensemble specializes in small-group choral repertoire, bringing a unique and intimate musical experience to audiences.
Encore Singers of Olney Maryland: The Encore Singers is an adult choral group based in Montgomery County, Maryland, founded in the mid-1980s by a group of Einstein High School alumni. The group sings music both sacred and secular, accompanied and a capella. The director, Jennifer Boice, is an energetic and experienced leader.
